英文摘要：

As an expression of urban form, urban vertical form reflects the ability of the city to accommodate population and economic activities, and it also affects the overall style and features of cityscapes. Therefore, the control of urban verti- cal form is an important part of overall urban design. Based on an understanding of the characteristics and difficulties of the urban vertical control in the overall ur- ban design process, this paper presents a few scientific and operational approach- es and methods.The paper establishes a method of designing urban vertical form based on processes such as rigid pattern, evaluation model, multiple scenarios, and aesthetic correction. It is proposed that the control of urban vertical form should be done by employing ＂spatial height- control strength＂ two-dimensional control matrix.
