Combining a close examination of the social and spatial characteristics of historic districts with the experience of local practice, this paper proposes a preservation mode based on the concept of ＂micro-community＂ that aims to preserve the social life of the neighborhood. Taking Hepingzhong historic district of Guangzhou as an example, it explores the application of ＂micro-community＂ in the preservation of historic districts in terms of historic preservation strategies, community organization strategies, and implementation strategies.
