基于全国高校毕业生2007年、2011年和2013年抽样调查数据,分析学历层次和专业领域对高校毕业生初职社会经济地位的影响发现,学历层次和专业领域是影响毕业生初职社会经济地位的重要因素,硕士毕业生、理工类专业的毕业生初职社会经济地位回报高于本专科毕业生、人文社科类专业毕业生;没有足够证据表明与本科毕业生相比,家庭背景对硕士毕业生初职社会经济地位的影响要弱,但专业领域能调节家庭背景对初职社会经济地位的影响;为维持阶层优势或实现向上流动,不利家庭出身的学生一般会通过追求研究生学历或选择求职时容易摆脱家庭背景束缚的理工类专业来实现,而优势家庭的教育策略则更加多元。
Based on the National Survey of College Graduates data(2007, 2011, 2013), the impact of educational level and professional field on individual socioeconomic status(SES) is analyzed. It is found that, first, educational level and professional field are important factors determining SES of first job, SES of first job of masters is higher than bachelors, and SES of first job of graduates who are in the science or engineering major is higher than that of the humanities or social sciences major; second, compared with the undergraduates, there is no enough evidence to show that the impact of family background on the masters" SES of first job is weaker, but professional field can adjust the influence of family background on the SES of first job; third, after the expansion of education, in order to maintain class advantage or achieve upward mobility, the students from the disadvantaged family can pursue postgraduate degree, or select the science or engineering major which can easily get rid of the shackles of family background while searching job. However, the students from the advantaged family have much more choices.
