The track irregularity spectrum abroad is compared with China's railway track irregularity statistic spectrum. According to the track geometry data measured from Shanghai-Nanjing railway, the track irregularity spectrum values are close to the US class 5 railway' s, but its track alignment irregularity spectrum values are large. The coherence functions are utilized to analyze the relationship between track irregularities and vertical and lateral car body vibration accelerations. The vertical car body vibration has two main frequencies, and the coherent value between them on one frequency is high; the lateral car body vibration has one main frequency, and the coherent value between them is also high. Finally, the track irregularity spectrum is suggested as an index to control track geometry irregularity.
