From the view of knowledge transfer, knowledge diffusion and organizational learning in the gLobaL vaLue chain, this paper analyzes the formation process of Local enterprise's technology capability and the mechanism of industry upgrading, constructs the reference frame for value chain upgrading from the two dimensions of innovation type and technology proprietary, proposes and the seven different paths of industry upgrading from four angLes of technology process, product, function and value chain spanning. FinaLLy, Lenovo Corporation is employed to iLLustrate that how Chinese manufacturing industry upgrade in the global value chain and win sustainable competitive advantage.
