英文摘要：

Global Manufacturing Network （GMN） is a new manufacturing system, which has super manufacturing and servicing abilities, and it is challenging the traditional manufacturing conceptions. This paper analyzes and explores the driving forces of emergence of the concept of GMN, the evolution of concept, the members of GMN as well as the theoretical bases of GMN. Then, this paper relates the opportunities for developing countries provided by GMN, which consist of knowledge transfer to local enterprises in GMN, the opportunities for developing countries to acquire knowledge transferred through GMN, and the opportunities of industrial upgrading for developing countries provided by GMN. Finally, the implications of GMN for China＇s local industries and enterprises are explored.
