In order to solve the problem that the building of large marine engineering equipment in traditional method has a long manufacturing period,and a high requirement to dock and the difficulties in launching,it proposes the method of floating shipbuild.The floating shipbuild is a new method that is supported by the buoyancy of the water and that manufacture products directly in the way of layered manufacturing and layer-by-layer accumulation on the surface of water.It is mainly applied to assembly the large marine engineering equipment.It introduces the basic principles and manufacturing specifications of floating shipbuild,which has guided the manufacturing of SEVAN 650,including choice of platform,division of sections and underwater rotating of bottom.The success of SEVAN 650 verifies the feasibility of floating shipbuild,which can solve the difficulties of large marine engineering equipment launching and shorten manufacturing period.
