　The basic standpoint of green chemistry and the related research fields are introduced,and the influence and harm of volatile organic compounds（VOCs） in traditional solvent borne coatings on environment and human body are summarized.Based on the idea of green chemistry,the future development strategy of green polymer material and environmentally friendly coatings are put forward.At last,various environmental labels established in developed countries and the related environmental certification system are reviewed.
