Western blotting is an important test technique used in the researching cell and molecular biology . By using the western blotting ,researchers can detect special proteins ,particularly those that are of low abundance , from the complex mixture of proteins extracted from cells and tissues ,and then make qualitative and quantitative analysis . Since scientists invented the protocol for protein transfer from an electrophoresed gel to a membrane in 1979 , protein blotting has gained great developments . Now ,in scientific community there are all kinds of means to transfer . So this paper describes how to optimize western blotting to improve the success rate .
