City culture planning is one of the most important keypoints in the city development. As an indispensable part of culture planning, traditional statistic display is used in present maps. There are limitations in cognitive effects, description of space element relation and understanding of planning ideas. In this paper, the principle of the dynamic display of thematic map, the choice of visual variables and the data process in the implementation of flash are discussed. The practical examples illustrate that the dynamic display helps to clarify the information guide, balance the Interface load, improve the visual expe- rience and promote the users understandings of the philosophy of culture planning.
