Perchlorate in water is a stable chemical inertia matter and is very harmful to human body. Chemical reduction, adsorption and biological reduction are methods for removing perchlorate from water at present and have their advantages and disadvantages. The adsorption for perchlorate removal is an economical and efficient method in the drinking water, but only change the position where perchlorate exists, the perchlorate is still harmful for environment. Co-treating perchlorate in water by adsorption and biological reduction is a research field in future which is an economical, efficient and environmental method.
