The mechanism of estrogen to prevent and treat atherosclerosis（AS）has become the hotspot in recent years.Research has shown that resistance of estrogen to AS is mostly correlated with the regulation of estrogen to vascular endothelial,vascular smooth muscle,blood fat and the anticoagulant effect.The immune-inflammation theory is a new idea about atherosclerotic mechanism.Female hormone replacement therapy is still controversial,the mimic estrogen′s effects of plant estrogen and traditional Chinese herbal compound preparation are gradually recognized.Here is to make a review on current research about the correlation between estrogen and AS.
