In China, there is widely misusage of Japan＇ s index of self - sufficient rate of food, and also Japanese attitude to self - sufficient rate of food is widely misunderstood, In this paper, aiming at correcting the misusage and misunderstand, Japan＇ s index of self - sufficient rate of food and its situation of food self - sufficiency is introduced. And further more, insecurities of Japan＇ s state ＆ its people under low self - sufficient rate of food status, and also its efforts of counter measures to improve self - sufficient rate is illustrated. It is pointed out that Japan＇ s thoughts and efforts about food self - sufficient rate are worth learning, hut some measures concerning and having impact on China need China＇ s state, enterprises, and its people take relief measures urgently.
