In order to meet a certain online monitoring system's need of massive-data image's real-time processing, a high-speed image rotation algorithm based on boundary location and image symmetry is proposed. The algorithm can effectively solve the sawtooth problem that goes with the fast rotation algorithm based on Bresenham approach, and it also can accelerate the image rotation by times compared with the typical image rotation algorithms. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to current typical algorithms in terms of rotation-speed and has better image quality.
