A brief introduction about the field of stroke treatment is made, and the latest research progress of calcium antagonists, protein kinase C agonists, free radical scavengers, thrombolytie drugs, anti-bleeding drugs, L-arginine, and anti-cerebral edema drugs are summed up in this paper. Finally the prospect is discussed about the development of drug therapy for stroke.
