胞外ATP(extracellular ATP,eATP)作为一种信号分子,在植物生长发育、逆境胁迫等多种生理过程中发挥重要功能。
Adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) serves as a universal energy source for various life activities in all organisms. Previous research has shown that ATP, the small molecule synthesized in organelles such as mitochondria and chloroplast of plant cells, can be transported to the outside of the cell. Extracellular ATP (eATP) is an important signaling molecule used by plants and functions in a various of physiological processes including growth, development and stress responses in plants. Recently, the first ATP receptor of plants was identified, which is a milestone for our overall understanding of the signal transduction pathway regulated by extracellular ATP. In this review, we summarize past researches on the production and roles of eATP in plant growth, development and stress responses, discuss the discovery, releases, recognization, regulation and signal transduction, and assay methods of eATP and propose several research directions which deserve future investigation.
