The leakage of wastewater which contains carbon tetrachloride polluted soils while it was drained during the canal. It was found that the carbon tetrachloride contamination of soils had several characteristics during investigation to the water source of a city by drilling, Carbon tetrachloride was detected in soils that closed to the canal but it was not find in soils that was far from the canal, The vertical distribution of carbon tetrachloride in soils was discontinuous, which was effected by rainfall very much, It was almost not detected carbon tetrachloride in shallow layer of most of the drills but it was found in soils and bedrocks which were under three meters. The behavior of pumping water from wall caused that the content of carbon tetrachloride in drilling soils closed to pump wall was apparently higher than the other.
