The relationship between reference to reality and knowledge is the focus in the fields of metaphysics and epistemology. While Frege concerned himself with the reference problem in analytical philosophy tradition,Husserl appealed to the mental acts to deal with it in phenomenological tradition. The reference based on intentions shows the intentionality feature of the act of referring,and the referents from the dimension of mind display the perspective of the referred objects in contemporary philosophy of mind.
