Historical data is not necessarily equal to historical facts because there are inevitable mistakes in historical data. Whether the historical data is right or wrong affects the establishment of a historical conclusion. Therefore, we must study the historical data carefully before quoting them. Based on a detailed research and study on the historical data of ＂Zhuang＂ recorded by Xu Zi Zhi Tong Jian, Gui Hal Yu Heng Zhi and Xi Man Cong Xiao, it is found that the current popular histori- cal conclusion which claims the name of ethnic Zhuang originated from ＂Zhuang Army＂ in Song Dynasty actually is a mistake. The miscopying and spreading process of the original historical version produces some mistakes in the historical data which in turn leads to the wrong historical conclusion. And it should be corrected.
