As the high -quality standard free trade agreement, TPP necessitates whole agricultural market openness, absolute free trade, and perfect market competition and facilitation and transparency in agricultural market. There are advantages and disadvantages of Japan entering into TPP for civil agricultural market. Meanwhile, this measure fully exposes the disadvantages of Japang agriculture, including the monopoly of agri- cultural development by Japan Agricultural Co - operatives, overprotection of agricultural industry and slow process of agricultural reform. To ensure broad development prospects after joining TPP, Japan needs to defi- nite the agricuhural development direction and accelerate the agricultural reform.
