Based on three temporal satellite remote sensing TM/ETM＋ images, the land use information of Fengxian County, Jiangsu Province in 1994, 2000 and 2005 is extracted by the supervised classification and manual interpreter methods. According to the basic data of land use, the dynamic changes and transforming trend of land use are quantified. Results show that from 1994 to 2005, construction land and woodland have largely increased while cropland and unused land have decreased. Besides, the area of water body witnessed an increase in the first half and a decrease in the second, whereas the area of garden plot, a decrease at first and then an increase. Land use in this period tends to change from cropland to construction land.
