This study conducted a questionnaire to investigate 378 participants to examine the interactive effects of appearance comparison and thin-ideal internalization on the sociocultural pressures and body satisfaction of college females. The results indicated that there were significant negative correlations between factors of family background, peer influence, media, appearance comparison, thin-ideal internalization and body satisfaction of college females, that socio-cultural pressures had negative effects on females＇ body satisfaction via appearance comparison and thin-ideal internalization, and that appearance comparison mediated the relationship between thin-ideal internalization and body satisfaction.
