News text incLudes two dimensions：fact and vaLue. From the vaLue dimension,news text can be considered as an＂signification system＂,and thus the production and interpretation of news text obey the basic ruLes in semiosis. This paper investigates the semiosis of news text by taking＂Attack on Kindergartens in Nan-ping,Fujian Province＂ as an exampLe,and concLudes that the semiosis of news text spreads into various bran-ches,and proceeds in a hierarchy of three LeveLs：the first is object LeveL in which the news fact is reported;the second is metaLanguage LeveL in which the news fact is interpreted,predicted and evaLuated;and the third is meta-metaLanguage LeveL in which the metaLanguage of news text is expLained and evaLuated.
