The present situation of personal protection in chemical laboratories in Chinese universities was introduced.The reason of a severe accident in a foreign chemical laboratory was introspected,which could shed some light on personal protection in chemical laboratories in domestic universities.In view of the actual conditions of chemical laboratories in domestic universities,some suggestions for basic personal protection in chemical laboratories were proposed based on the experience of international famous universities.These protective measures included eye protection,hand protection,face protection,body protection,and etc.
