The research concerning public participation GIS and volunteered geographical in- formation was analyzed, and demands and characteristics of public use of volunteered geo- graphical information for interactive mapping were discussed. On this basis, a prototype sys- tem for public part applied to projects icipation web cartography was designed and implemented, and successfully related to the Shenzhen Oeo-spatial information platform.
