The principal achievements in the structural health monitoring and safety evaluation system for Huai＇ an Bridge investigated and executed are introduced. The main progress and problems that existed in the establishment and study of the health monitoring system for prestressed concrete cable-stayed bridges are systematically discussed with respect to the determination of the monitoring items, monitor strategy, structural finite model analysis, placement of measuring points, structural health monitoring and safety evaluation software, etc.
