Paizhangzhiyin is a rhyme table for ancient Quanzhou dialect. The book was written before 1700. However,the character Zhao was put in the Lou rhyme in this book. According to this, Hong Weiren（1996） claimed that this was an evidence which showed the book was written after 1800. By observing and studying the pronunciation of Zhao in Quanzhou area, this paper claims that Zhao could not be an argument for the date of completion of the book.
