Continuous descent approach has been widely given serious attention since it was raised, but it is still in primary stage in our country, which had not been given serious attention. It introduced summarized research, compared the definitions of continuous descent approach among different countries and organizations ,which also clarified the core content and summed up advantages. It reviewed the current situation of the continuous descent approach＇s theoretical research and flight test, and analyzed the research achievements in noise reduction, energy saving and emission reduction. Finally, it pointed out the future development of continuous descent approach based on its safety and efficiency.
