China and ASEAN countries are geographical neighbors and culturally connected with a long history of friendly contacts. Nowadays, ASEAN has become the second - largest trade partner of China and the relation between China and ASEAN has become the strategic partner-ship. In order to plan policies to develop the foreign relationships, the situations of the foreign countries should be known first. The basic situations and transitions of ASEAN countries are introduced in the paper. And then the demographic policies and characters of every country of ASEAN were concluded and analyzed. Some enlightenment can be provided by grasping the basic demographic situations and learning from the experiences of the demographic policies fulfillment.
