Based on the data collected from "2013 national college graduates' employment survey", this paper compares the differences between urban and rural college graduates hunting for jobs. The main findings are: firstly, urban college graduates have a higher starting salary than rural students and compose the main- stream of the job market. Secondly, urban graduates show a greater tendency in choosing management and technique positions; they invest more in financial resources, are more efficient with information channels, and use less time to find high-quality jobs. In terms of the factors resulting in the level of starting salaries, gender difference is the main reason for urban graduates, while for rural graduates it is educational back-ground.
