Today＇s environmental assessment always use weights to reflect the importance degree of evaluation indicator,and there are different views on certainning weight.In fact, index weights of environmental assessment only for qualitative indicators,but for the pollution index which have developed ＂grading standards＂ it does not exist the concept of weights,which is the characteristics of the EIA.So theoretical proof why pollution index does not exist weights in the field of EIA is very necessary,and it is a necessary condition to standardize the methods of EIA.
