An experimental study of pool boiling on the modified copper enhanced structure,with the separate ordinary confined spaces and the open channels between the confined spaces structures was conducted with water and ethanol.The heat flux investigated in this study ranged with 13~400 kW/m~2 and confined space dimensions were specified at 0.15 mm,0.5 mm,no confined.The results show that the boihng performance of both water and ethanol can be enhanced on the plain surfaces covered with the enhanced structures.The visual observation indicated that most of the active nucleation sites emerged in the confined space covered by enhanced structures even at high superheat.
