This paper summarized several common methods to calculate the rotational inertia of the rigid body, including definition method, parallel axis theorem, vertical axis theorem, projection method, micro-element model method, and scale transformation method. Then the author analyzed the application range of different approaches and gave some examples to illustrate it.
