A bridge can be treated as a system consisted of several main components. In this paper, the time-variant failure probability of the degraded bridge subjected to time-dependent resistance and load is investigated. The adaptive important sampling method is used to evaluate the system time-variant failure probability. Additionally, the effect of several parameters on the system failure probability is studied.
