The evolutionary relationship of the standard genetic codes and the mitochondrial nonstandard genetic codes is investigated under a theoretical model. The evolutionary tree of the genetic codes is deduced and the result is consistent with three kingdoms of species within the Domain Eukaryota. It is found that the nonsense mutation and its reverse are the key factor for the tree construction.
