According to involute generation principle, a algorithm for taking straight line to approach involute based on bass circle was proposed. The increment of each coordinate point of involute was calculated simply and accurately by means of derivative formula, and complicated trigonometric calculation was avoided. The involute wheel dressing program was prepared by using VC ＋＋ 6. 0 as programming tool, and dressing simulation was completed.
