英文摘要：

Objective To describe appropriate methods in placing skin expander in the retroaural area and manage？ment of commonly seen complications. Methods Two hundred and four cases （245 ears） that received skin expander implan？tation at the author’s institution during 2006.7-2012.12 were reviewed. Results Postoperative complications included hema？toma （n=5）, skin flap rupture with expander exposure （n=3）, wound rupture （n-1）, and expander failure （n=1）. There was no postoperative infection. Following successful management of complications, phase II reconstruction was successfully complet？ed in all 245 ears. Conclusion Retroaural expander provides＂extra＂skin that can be used in subsequent ear reconstruction. Complications can be prevented and need to be timely treated to minimize influence on subsequent ear reconstruction.
