Based on a group of newly discovered archival materials at University of Cambridge and Tsinghua University, we have reconstructed in this essay some previously unknown experiences of Jwu-Shi Wang during his studying in University of Cambridge. As a result, this essay enriches our knowledge of Wang's life and study during the 1930s. Wang's story not only reveals the contemporary exchanges and associations between Chinese physicists and their British colleagues such as Paul Dirae, Ralph Fowler, John K. Roberts, etc. , but also represents the passionate support to younger physicists on the part of P. Y. Chou, S.C. Wang, Chi-Sun Yeh, and others. More importantly, we argue, J.S. Wang's experience clearly demonstrates Chou's farsighted design and persistent efforts to dispatch talented Chinese theorists overseas and let them study with Western masters in order to nurture future leaders of theoretical physics in China. History proves that the strategic planning of Chou and his colleagues indeed effectively advanced the Chinese development in theoretical physics and was of significant international impact.
