Service science becomes the research focus under the circumstance that the service industry develops in a high speed and becomes to the dominant industry in many countries. This paper analyses the concepts and characteristics of service, and summary the concepts, research fields and methodologies of service science. On this basis, the basic theories of SSME, service innovation and globalization of service are analyzed. Finally, main research focus and research questions are presented.
