Objective To investigate the effects of corticosterone - （CORT） on glucocorticoid receptor （GR） expression in cultured rat dorsal spinal cord astrocytes. Methods Astrocytes from neonatal SD rat spinal cord were cultured and purified. Astrocyte GR expression was detected by immunofluorescence and western blot assay. Results Immunofluorescence labeling indicated that GR were shown in most of glial fibrillary acidic protein -（GFAP） positive cultured dorsal spinal cord astrocytes. CORT increased astrocyte GR protein expression. Conclusion CORT could promote GR expression in cultured dorsal spinal cord astrocytes.
