This paper selects the relevant indicators which reflect the steel industry technology innovation and performance, and measures the level of technology innovation and performance from 2000-2012 through the com- posite index. What＇s more, this paper also analyses the impact of technology innovation on the performance based on generalized least squares, and put forward some related suggestions. The research shows that the change of 1% in the steel industry technology innovation will lead to the in the same in the same change of 0. 758% in perform- ance; the change of 1% in the average asset scale will lead to the opposite change of 0. 076 % in performance; the change of. 1% in the employees will lead to the opposite change of 0. 014% in performance.
