英文摘要：

The overall visual image of acity, which is a result of multiple-force urban development, is an important component ofits soft competitiveness. Itis affected byskylines, forms of space and visual perceptions. This paper providesa detailed analysis ofthese factors in order to construct the evaluation index system of the overall visual image of acity. It then constructs aoperational model of quantifying individual indicators. The proposed system is applied to the evaluation of skyline of Hong Kong for instance. In addition, an optimized indicator system is explored based on a comprehensive evaluation of seven typical cities.
