Based on a survey on the language vitality of Chadong language in Lingui County of Guilin City on the part of youngsters from the following three aspects： native language use, multilingualism and language shift, as well as trends in existing language domains, the paper focuses on youngsters using Chadong language, which serves as a sample of the language ecology among ethno-linguistic communities. It then puts forward some suggestions for the implementation of bilingual education in ethnic minority areas.
