CDK11^P85 is a CDKll/PITSLRE protein kinase family member, encoded by Cdc2L1 or Cdc2L2 and translated by an IRES. It plays an important role in mitosis, apoptosis, spindle formation, microbule stabilization, tumorigenesis and the injury of central nervous system. CDK11^P85 was discovered to interact with HBO1, cyclin D3, β-1,4-galactosyltransferase, androgen receptor and estrogen receptor. Future studies may provide evidance for its potential for the treatment of tumor and metabolic diseases.
