The canine major histocompatibility complex(MHC) class Ⅱ genes are introduced briefly in this article.The physical map,gene structure,gene function and expression,genotyping methods,polymorphism and the association with diseases of canine MHC class Ⅱ region genes are reviewed in details.It is pointed out that the investigation of MHC class Ⅱ genes in dogs would make a large contribution to the research on disease resistance breeding,the human autoimmune diseases and organ transplantation.
