Adenovirus has been widely used in the field of gene therapy due to a series of advantages including high titer,large capacity for inserting a foreign DNA and the ability to infect dividing and non-dividing cells.Labeling adenoviral particles is of great significance for the fundamental research of adenovirus biological function and the evaluation of the therapeutic effect mediated by adenoviral vector in gene therapy.This paper reviewed the methods for labeling adenovirus,which included the developmental process of adenovirus labeling technology,providing some new information for us to find better methods to label adenovirus and find its further application in gene therapy.
