The spring spoke-pawl ground wheel has the characteristics of structural simplicity,working reliability,convenience of repair and good mechanical properties when driven on the loose fields such as desert,marshland and paddy field.It has a good prospect in small power farm machinery and off-road vehicles.In this paper,the series formation,structures and the moving resistance of the ground wheel were introduced and theoretically analyzed.The minimal value R_（x min） as well as the conditions and methods for reducing moving resistance were obtained,which can provide a basis for future application of the spring ground wheel.
