Based on the 11 listed joint -stock commercial banks from 2006 to 2009,the paper firstly builds up a group of models consisting of a single equation and simultaneous equations, and then empirically analyzes the relationship between the ownership structure and the bank' s performance. The evidence suggests that larger proportion of the largest stock - hold, balances capacity of the largest stock - hold and higher ownership concentration hinder the bank to improve performance. But foreign strategic investors and the nature of the actual controller are accelerant of bank's performance. In addition, the study also found that the board size has negative impact on the performance. But the proportion of independent directors and bank elderships has certainly helpful for the performance.
