英文摘要：

The soil ant community on west slope of Mt.Ailao was investigated based on sample plot investigation method.Totally,140 sample plots in 28 sample stands along 8 vertical vegetations at 4 different sections on the west slope were investigated.The results were as follows,1） the total number of ground ant specimen was 41 554 belonging to 74 species,31 genera and 7 subfamilies;2） The richness of dominant species was high.There were 10 species of soil ants whose number was higher than 1 000 individuals;3） The number of endemic species were rich.15 species of them belonged to monotypic genera,36 species occurred only in one sample stands,and 25 species has less than 100 individuals.
