It is found that the Redlich-Kwong-family equations of state quantitatively can describe the second virial coefficients of argon-like fluids well[ Ind. Eng. Chem. Res. , 2003, 42, 7037 ]. In this paper, the Redlich- Kwong-family equations of state are used to describe the third virial coefficients of real fluids. Results show that these equations can qualitatively describe the third virial coefficients in the high temperature region, but they cannot quantitatively describe the third virial coefficients as well as the second virial coefficients.
